BACK DOWN MEMORY LANE!

On June 30, 1993, a debate on rap music and censorship broadcasted live from WNYC-TV in New York City. Ralph McDaniels hosted the debate. Reverend Calvin Butts, Pastor of the Abyssinian Baptist Church in Harlem; Cynthia Horner, Right On! Magazine Editor; Coral Aubert, Youth Educator; and Rapper Ice-T all participated in the intense debate. In the video, Ice-T defends himself as an artist, man, and hip-hop music. Ice-T can be seen taking many verbal jabs at Reverend Calvin Butts and his views on rap music. Viewers in the video call in and give their thoughts as well.
