Following the killing of Michael Brown by a police officer, 29-year-old activist Darren Seals became well-known in protests for Michael Brown in Ferguson. According to police, Seals was found dead in a burning car in St. Louis.
Before two a.m. on Tuesday, September 6, 2016, police got a phone call from Riverview to help assist local authorities with a vehicle fire. While putting the fire out, the police found Darren Seals inside the car. Seals suffered a gunshot wound. St. Louis County Police Department spokesman Sgt. Shawn McGuire decided not to give further details due to an ongoing investigation.
Darren Seals was very vocal during the Ferguson protests after Michael Brown’s death in August 2014. After a grand jury didn’t indict Officer Darren Wilson in Brown’s killing, video footage, and photos can be seen where Darren Seals is embracing Michael’s distraught mother, Lesley McSpadden.
Seals posted a picture of embracing McSpadden on Instagram after the family learned that Officer Darren Wilson wouldn’t be facing trial.
Hopefully, Seals and his family will receive justice soon. R.I.P. Darren!
