It seems as though 2016 is the year of famous deaths. Many greats are passing away, and Ricky Harris has been added to the list.

Comedian and actor Ricky Harris died Monday at the age of 54.

Harris had a recurring role on the show “Everybody Hates Chris” and has voiced different characters that appeared in hip-hop albums, including several by Snoop Dogg.

The cause of death is not available at this time. However, Harris’ manager, Cindy Ambers stated that he suffered a heart attack two years ago.

Harris is the son of a preacher and grew up in Long Beach with childhood friend and rap star Snoop Dogg. The duo sang in their church choir.

Harris’ first movie was the 1993 classic Poetic Justice. The film starred Janet Jackson and Tupac Shakur.

Snoop Dogg took to Instagram to express his feelings about the death of his dear friend.
