Flashback Friday: Celebrating The Legacy of Andre 3000

It’s safe to say that Andre 3000 help put Atlanta on the hip-hop scene along with Big Boi. The two formed a group and became known to the world as Outkast.

Born May 27, 1975, the rapper celebrated his 43rd birthday in Oakland that day by attending multiple BBQ events at Lake Merritt Park.

Three stacks outing was the same location where a caucasian woman called the authorities on a black family having a barbecue in April which set social media on fire.

Police were notified by the woman that the black family was using a charcoal grill instead of a non-charcoal grill. No one was taken into custody when Oakland officers arrived.

Aside from BBQ and “all that pimp shit,” Andre 3000 is undoubtedly one of the greatest MC’s to ever pick up a mic.

With dropping classic albums with Big Boi such as ATLiens, Stankonia, Aquemini, and many more, Andre 3000 deserves much credit and respect for what he has done for hip-hop and the music scene in Atlanta.

While some may think that Andre 3000 has stepped away from the mic, the rapper has released new records this year such as “Me & My (To Bury Your Parents)” and “Look Ma No Hands.”

CeeSoDope would like to celebrate the music and another year of life for the living legend.

Check out some of Andre 3000’s classics records and features throughout his career.

Happy Belated Birthday Three Stacks!
