Florida native MC Kodak Black received significant backlash following an inappropriate comment about actress Lauren London, who was the long-time girlfriend of late MC Nipsey Hussle and mother of his son Kross Asghedom. Nipsey was fatally shot outside of his The Marathon clothing store in Los Angeles on March 31. Kodak hopped on Instagram Live and stated he would wait to date London which many people found to be disrespectful due to the recent passing of Nipsey.
“Lauren London that’s baby, though. She about to be out here single,” Kodak said in the video. “She’s finna be a whole widow out here. I’ll be the best man I can be for her. I’ll give her a whole year. She might need a whole year to be crying and sh*t for him.”
Yuck. Kodak Black is disgusting & makes ignorant comments almost daily. Lauren London is mourning the death of her soulmate & the father of her child less than a week ago & you’re talking about shooting your shot w/ a widow? Like you even stand a chance ? pic.twitter.com/qMzcWqbHBD

T.I. did not appreciate Kodak’s comments to London and decided to respond to him during an IG video. “Hey, Kodak Black: You outta pocket, n***a. Fix that shit—quickly, expeditiously,” Tip said in the video. “[…] If I see you, I’m a say it to your face. You outta pocket, n***a. Get your motherfuckin’ self together.”
Both London and T.I. appeared in the ATL movie released in 2006.
Kodak being Kodak commented on T.I.’s video with the response: “Or what?” Kodak then took to his IG Live again to address T.I. “Man, listen: I said what I said. Y’all tryin’ to misconstrue what I said. […] Fuck that. I don’t give a fuck what y’all talkin’ about,” he said. “T.I., man, I don’t care. I’m in Georgia right now.”
However, T.I. wasn’t finished with Kodak. On Monday, April 8, T.I. removed an art installation of Kodak from his Trap Music Museum in Atlanta.
Kodak stated that he didn’t care about the removal of his art piece from the museum. “Rest in peace Shawty Lo,” Kodak said in his IG Live. “F*** that pu**y ass museum, b**ch. I ain’t give y’all permission to put me up there anyway, b**ch.”
He eventually apologized to London for his insensitive remarks. “If I disrespected you Lauren London in any shape or form, I am sorry…. Even though I didn’t,” he said. “Rest in peace to dude, if I disrespected Lauren London in any way even though I know I didn’t, my bad.”
While Kodak apologized to London, he sure wasn’t going to apologize to T.I. Kodak took to heart to T.I. calling him out and released a diss record titled “Expeditiously” to the Atlanta MC.
Willie said my name on the TV, that boy a bold witness
On the news he T.I.P.’d me, that boy got no feelings
In the line where Kodak is talking about Willie, T.I.P’d him; he’s referring to a video that T.I. did for crime stoppers.
Kodak could be insinuating that the legendary ATL rapper is a snitch.
How the hell you callin’ me out when you know I don’t listen?
How you try and put me in timeout when I ain’t Big Boy children?
Kodak addresses MC’s who continue to check him on his comments to certain people. In these two lines, Kodak is applying that it is a waste of time for OG’s in the game to call him out on his ignorance when he doesn’t listen.
As the song “Expeditiously” continues, Kodak goes even further dissing T.I. by rapping: “How you tell me what came out my mouth, you don’t even know Nipsey?” Kodak could be feeling that T.I. addressing him was unnecessary. For Kodak, he believes T.I. didn’t know Nipsey on a personal level to be coming at him.
However, Kodak takes it a step further to call out T.I.’s wife, Tiny by calling her a b*tch and calling her Miss Piggy. Miss Piggy is a Muppet character known from Jim Henson’s The Muppet Show.
Tiny, that b*tch ugly as hell, I don’t even want Piggy
I can’t beat you n***as at talkin’, give me a long sentence
Kodak took shots at T.I., his wife Tiny, and even The Game. So did Kodak take it too far on “Expeditiously?” Let’s see what some YouTube stars had to say about the record:
My thoughts:
Kodak’s comments to London were very inappropriate. I do understand why T.I. felt the need to address him due to him having worked with London, but sometimes you have to let people learn from their silly decisions. It’s like Kodak said, “How the hell you callin’ me out when you know I don’t listen?” Some people are oblivious to their ignorance and for T.I. being a legend in the game trying to school someone younger than him about watching their mouth, sometimes you’re going to run into knuckleheads who don’t know any better and don’t want to listen.
I felt Kodak’s comments to Tiny were also out of line for the simple fact Tiny has nothing to do with him and T.I.’s issue with each other and T.I.never mentioned anything about Kodak’s family.
