Johnny Kemp made his mark on the R&B scene in 1986 with the single "Just Another Lover." In 1988, he owned the #1 spot for two weeks with his hit record "Just Got Paid," which also made it to #10 on the pop charts.
According to Billboard.com, that same year Kemp got a second top 5 hit with
MC Lyte released one of her biggest hits titled "Cha Cha Cha" in 1989 at the age of 18.
"Cha Cha Cha" was featured on MC Lyte's second album Eyes on This.

"It Was A Good Day" is a classic from Ice Cube. It's the second single from his third solo album, The Predator. The Predator debuted at #1 on the U.S. Billboard 200, selling 193,000 copies in its first week. The album was released on November 17, 1992.

Educated Rapper, a.k.a. EMD (Jeffrey Campbell) from the legendary rap group Untouchable Force Organization (U.T.F.O.), passed away June 3 at the age of 54.
According to fellow group member Mix Master Ice, EMD died at a Brooklyn hospital after fighting cancer.
