Black Entertainment; We not trying to spell bet. The BET Awards 2015 was on fire this year with spectacular performances from amazing and talented artists. The show opened up with none other than Kendrick Lamar, who blazed the stage with his song titled “Alright” from his album To Pimp A Butterfly. Kendrick defiantly brought his style to the stage along with his TDE crew. I must say that this year’s BET Awards was very exciting, and everybody lit up the stage.
Whenever Black entertainers can come together and get positive recognition for their artistry it is very exciting to me. Some of my favorite performances also included Chris Brown. Chris always delivers on the stage and even won the Fandemonium Award and Best Male R&B Artist Award. During his speech, he recognized his mistakes in life and his daughter as a blessing. Chris has that star quality that just draws people in. So far he has won 188 awards in his career and his stage performance and presence shows why.
BET also gave their viewers wonderful tributes. Bad Boy reunited on the stage and had everyone on their feet. What a way to have a musical reunion. Lil Kim even came out and put on one hell of a show. Then came the tribute that everyone was waiting for. The Janet Jackson tribute was performed by Tinashe, Ciara and Jason Derulo. I must say Ciara outshined both of them with her dancing skills which wasn’t much of a surprise to me and others. Janet Jackson even made an onstage appearance. Ms. Jackson along with her talented brother Michael Jackson are musical icons. Other entertainers such as Meek Mill, Fetty Wap, Patti Labelle, and Nicki Minaj also graced the stage with hit singles and great performances. The BET Awards 2015 was phenomenal this year.
