With the A3C right around the corner, I’ve been focusing on the topic of women in hip-hop. The festival dedicated to hip-hop will host a Women In Charge conference connecting, inspiring, and educating women in the music industry.
The event will take place on Oct.4 at the Loudermilk Center and will have a series of events, panels, and sessions with some of the most influential women making big noise in hip-hop.
As a woman who fell in love with the genre when I was 12-years-old, I’m delighted to see the A3C festival show love to the ladies. For this week’s Flashback Friday, I would like to present a discussion of women in hip-hop with Roxanne Shante, Queen Latifah & Salt-N-Pepa. The ladies have been rocking the mic since the 80s.
Presented by Underground Raw, the female MC’s discuss being a woman in hip-hop, being a boss in the industry, keeping their morals in the male-dominated business, and more.
